Lines of research

The group research is aimed at developing robotic assistants for laparoscopic surgery. The purpose is defined as the creation of machines which are not intended to replace the doctor in surgical interventions, but to work side-by-side with him. The working method is focus on an early stage of new knowledge creation and a second stage leading to the construction of demonstrator systems. The developed prototypes exhibit a dual function: i) they are useful to experimentally verify the theoretical developments and ii) they facilitate the transmission of research data.
